Kathleen Covalt
A passionate chamber musician and has performed in venues across the USA and in Europe. She is a recipient of several individual artist grants from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and has been featured as a Minnesota Public Radio Class Notes Artist for Rochester. Kathleen played as a first violinist with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra for a decade. She is a member of the C-O-X Trio and a professional freelance musician who specializes in chamber music collaborations on both violin and viola. Kathleen Covalt holds a degree in Violin Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Mrs. Covalt is the owner and teacher of KML Violin Studio in Rochester, MN where she shares her love of music with the next generation.

Dr. Tianyao Xie
A pianist with D.M.A and M.M degree in piano performance from Boston University. As an active professional pianist, she is working with a variety of musicians and composers (local and overseas) with regular concerts and recitals. As a piano teacher, her students have high participation in piano competitions. As a music festival and event organizer, she served as a coordinator assistant for International e-Piano Junior Competition and International e-Piano MusikFest. She is the pianist of the C-O-X Trio and has extensive experience as a solo pianist as well as working with chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs.

This Concert Music
Music will include Elgar’s Salut d’Amour composed as a love song to his fiance; Sarasate’s Playera - a sultry Spanish dance; Massenet’s gorgeous Meditation from the opera Thais, and Monti’s fiery Czardas, as well as lesser known gems in a variety of styles.
