Fred Gommels
Dance Instructor & Owner
Fred Gommels has lived in Rochester all his life. He has worked as a former private school teacher and developed skills in curriculum design, classroom management and organizational leadership.
Now, he uses those skills to not just teach dance lessons, but also to manage the administrative duties of the Blue Moon Ballroom. He works with dance students of all levels, and also provides personalized choreography for special occasions, such as performances and wedding dances.
When Fred isn’t giving dance lessons, he’s giving martial arts lessons at the Martial Arts Fitness Center. Fred is a 7th dan in Tae Kwon Do, and a 5th dan in Hapkido.
Gretel Quiñones

Gretel Quiñones has been an integral part of the Blue Moon Ballroom since 2015. She teaches both group and private dance lessons in multiple styles
​
In addition to being an incredible dance instructor, Gretel is also the Blue Moon Ballroom’s social event leader and planner. She leads beginner lessons before social dances, hosts themed events where she acts not only as the dance instructor, but also the promoter and the DJ.
​
In addition to being an expert dance instructor, Gretel is also a professional visual artist, and her works are displayed throughout the Blue Moon Ballroom. She is also an instructor at the Martial Fitness Center Arts who has a 4th dan in Tai Chi, a 3rd dan in Tae Kwon Do, and a 1st Dan in Hapkido.
