The Knights of Columbus building was acquired by Fred and Myrna Gommels on October 6, 2006. Fred & Myrna are the owners of the Martial Art Fitness Centers, Inc. in Rochester. They have renovated the KC building to turn it into the Blue Moon Ballroom.

Fred and Myrna have been actively involved in ballroom dancing with USA-Dance of Southern MN Since March of 2002.

The Gommels hosted Saturday night dances of their own from 2003-2006 at their Martial Art Fitness Center. Those dances are now all held at the Blue Moon Ballroom.

The Blue Moon is a 5000 sq. ft. facility with a 2000 sq. ft. hardwood maple dance floor complete with elegant lighting and state of the art sound system. The ambiance of the Blue Moon makes for a relaxing social atmosphere whether you come to dance or to just hang out with your friends.

On Friday nights the Blue Moon Ballroom frequently hosts public dances. These events start out with an introductory lesson before hand followed by music for your dancing pleasure. On some Friday nights you can dance to a variety of music from our Blue Moon Mix. On other Fridays you might like to try out our Club Salsa with a Caribbean theme.
